Our activities are many - come join us in our common ground:

Common Ground  2-Nite (CG 2-Nite)

CG 2-Nite is the heart of our youth ministry and an opportunity for Middle and High School youth to connect with each other in a loving, safe environment. Whether meeting together or separately, we explore what it means to live life as a Christian and how to better serve God in our day-to-day lives through discussion, music, games, movies, and worship. While our Sunday night meetings are the heart of CG 2-Nite, events like concerts, retreats, and lock-ins are also included under this heading to add to our experiences and stretch our faith and understanding of God.

The Next Level (TNL)

TNL studies are for youth who want to go deeper in their faith and understanding of the Bible. These bible studies are both short and long term and can be age and gender specific or open to all. Meeting times vary depending on the youth who participate. If you are interested in taking your faith to the next level, check out our newsletter to see what studies are currently happening or coming soon. Study suggestions are also welcome.

Youth Engaged in Service (YES)

As Christians, we are all called to be the hands and feet of Christ on Earth. YES events give youth the opportunity to go out and follow Christ's example. Events occur on a monthly basis and include such projects as sponsoring a child through World Vision, Project Hope, the 30-Hour Famine in February, the CROP walk in May, and the Appalachia Service Project (ASP) every summer. If your heart is in helping others through active service, these events are for you. Check the youth calendar for this month's project or upcoming events.

Sunday School

Our classes meet during worship and provide youth an opportunity to better understand Christianity, the Bible, the church, and how these things relate to their everyday lives. Middle and High School youth meet together on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am in the Middle School room and 11:00 a.m. in the Youth room.

Confirmation

This is an opportunity for students who are in eighth grade or above to take a step in their faith that not only confirms their Baptism vows, but also brings them into the membership of the church community. We examine the Methodist tradition and faith through study, field trips, retreats, worship, and mentors. This class meets Tuesday afternoons during the months of January through April and is Staff led.

New Generation Choir

For musically minded youth interested in singing, this group meets on Sunday afternoons at 5:15 p.m. in the Choir Room. Under the direction of Keri Mueller, they share their talents during worship, Youth Sunday, the Lenten Dinner, and their annual Spring choir tour.

Nardin Park Liturgical Dance Ensemble

This youth dance ensemble meets on Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Directed by Susan Miller, these 6-12th grade youth participate in Sunday morning worship services and other worship events throughout the year.

Youth Council / Newsletter Staff

For participating youth who want to have a say in the topics we discuss or events and projects we do, Youth Council meets on a monthly basis to discuss the coming month's calendar and organize up-coming events. Youth who have a love for journalism can join the staff of the Babbler, our youth newsletter. This group also meets on a monthly basis, typically following Youth Council.
