Music & Fine Arts Concert Series
During the fall, winter, and spring months, the Music and Fine Arts
Committee presents a Concert Series featuring regional and national
performers in our sanctuary. Past experience compels that we charge a nominal
fee for certain concerts by which we can allocate comfortable seating
for those in attendance. Tickets will be available four to five weeks
prior to each of these programs, by mail, or from the church
office.
Come back soon to see our lineup for 2008/2009. We had a great
series this past year featuring the following artists:

Douglas
Bruce, Organist from Basel, Switzerland Douglas
Bruce was born in Perth Scotland, and educated in Edinburgh. While
still a teenager, he was invited to become organist and
choirmaster at Augustine Congregational Church, Edinburgh, by its
then minister, the noted hymnologist Erik Routley. Following early retirement in
2001 from the world of banking, Douglas has devoted his time fully
to organ playing, becoming a much-traveled recitalist. His programming is insightful and
innovative, and along with his Scottish wit and humor, presents a
concert that sparkles with great enthusiasm. Mr. Bruce is
currently principal organist at St. Franz Xaver Church in
Munchenstein (near Basel) and assistant organist at the City of
Basel Cemetery. His concert at Nardin Park opens his third
American tour.

Annual "Christmas at Nardin Park" Concert Chapter 6 -
Award-winning Male a cappella Ensemble
Christmas Concerts at Nardin Park have
always been distinctive. Most often our own musical
ensembles present a special December concert. Every few years, we
invite other groups to perform. This year we presented
Chapter 6, to share their delightful acapella male voices and
special arrangements of Christmas favorites.Having performed in 40 of the United States,
these 7 young men have proven the universal appeal of a friendly
show. Whether for an audience of 3 or 30,000, they stand ready to
sing for anyone who's ready to smile. More

Brandon
and Rich Ridenour, Trumpet and Piano
What
a treat it was to welcome again this father and son musical team to
Nardin Park. At age 21, trumpeter
Brandon Ridenour recently became the youngest member of the
prestigious Canadian Brass, and he has been a featured soloist
with Marvin Hamlisch and the National Symphony Orchestra in three
performances in 2006 and 2007. Rich Ridenour has built a
formidable career performing concerts of great piano favorites
ranging from classical masterworks to American ragtime, jazz, and
rock and roll. Their program - "Trumpet
Invasion" - included a wide array of styles and
composers that provide entertaining variety for all musical
tastes. More

United
States Military Academy Glee Club West Point, New York
The Cadet Glee Club of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point has
provided entertainment for Americans young and old in nearly every
sate of the Union for over 100 years and has become one of the most
well known choirs in the nation.
Today, the club has eighty male and female singers from all
four cadet classes. They present over 50 performances annually.
Its repertoire depicts the
history and traditions of the Armed Forces and of West Point, but
also includes standard choral and patriotic selections. They often
feature a Cadet Showcase: soloists, duets, specialty groups, such
as "The Knight Caps," and instrumental solos.
OF SPECIAL NOTE: The Cadet Glee Club last performed in Michigan
in the early 1980's. Their two performances here are the result of
over eighteen months of dialogue and planning. The weekend was
a memorable experience for all involved.
