Music

Music plays a significant role in the worship and special program life of Nardin Park Church. Mel Rookus, Minister of Music, has led our musical efforts since 1977. We have six choirs, including handbells and liturgical dance, with two hundred participants. Facilities available to the program include a 48 rank, 3 manual Casavant organ, a Petrof concert grand piano, and a 3,000 square foot music facility with a music library of over 5,000 titles.

The church has produced three recordings, the most recent release made in September of 1998. The adult choir has toured in Europe twice, going to England and Scotland with 95 choir members and families in 1992 and a similar trip to Prague, Munich, Lucerne, and Salzburg in 1999.

Nardin Park presents a music series that averages 16 concerts each year by artists from throughout the United States and abroad.

People of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in the Music Ministries, and we hope you will become one of the participants. Check out the opportunities for adult and youth participation as well as the special music series.

Ken Medema performed at Nardin Park in May 2009 and wrote “Sing Us A Song” for our Chancel Choir. Our own Mel Rookus wrote the lyrics.
